POL Progress Update 3/1/15

10:13am Tuesday, March 03, 2015
Hey everyone! Sorry for the late update. I forgot that February only has 28 days and got a bit behind ^^;

Things were pretty slow this month. Real-life obligations hit several staff members pretty hard this month, and our lead programmer hasn't been able to get much done. This was a slower month than previous ones (which were already slower than normal), but hopefully we can get things jump-started in March and April. We're all still here and trying as best we can to keep up the work!

POL Progress Update 2/1/15

5:42pm Tuesday, February 03, 2015
Hey everyone!

Not too much news this month, as with last month. Things are still still progressing, albeit slowly. Furs and the graphics team are still working on battle sprites, and our head mapper Trinity is currently plowing through Sinnoh. February has historically been a hard month for us, because college courses are beginning to pick us for those of us who are in school, but we should still expect more progress by the end of the month!

POL Progress Update 1/1/15 [Late]

10:19pm Friday, January 02, 2015
Hey everyone! I apologize for the late update. Things have been pretty busy the past few days on my end!

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable holiday season. We don't have any big news at POL this month, we're just continuing on the same track with mapping and graphics. We have had a bit of an upswing in graphics this month, with a couple of newcomers who are now helping out with completing the missing battle sprites, and who will be very helpful for us in the long-term!

POL Progress Update 12/1/14

3:11pm Monday, December 01, 2014
Hey everyone!

Some small updates for all of you this month. Nothing too much has changed in terms of the course we're headed in. Trinity is still chugging away at Sinnoh maps: He's recently finished Jubilife, Sandgem, and Twinleaf, as well as some routes, and he's getting ready to start Floaroma and Oreburgh. In the spriting world, Furs has begun going over all of our battle sprites, creating missing ones, and updating small details on some older ones.

Creoix and Tenka have been hard at work databasing. With the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, we have been updating our database to include new items and such. In terms of exactly how much POL will be impacted by OrAs, we are still making these decisions and focusing on other regions where it doesn't have an impact, such as Sinnoh.

Finally, I was hoping to have some updates from our new programmer, but I was unable to catch him the past few days. I'll update this post if I get any good news from him!

POL Progress Update 11/1/14

8:56am Saturday, November 01, 2014
Hey POL!

Thanks for tuning in to another monthly progress update! We don't has any huge news like we did last month, but this month has been very productive. We're still energized from the addition of the new programmer to the team last month, and he's making great strides in the code. We've also all but completed the Pokemon database, which contains all of the most up-to-date information and data that POL will use in the game. This has been our main focus over the last month, other than coding, so now that it's basically complete, we're going to move on to other tasks, including mapping (which is currently focused on the Sinnoh region) and spriting.

That's about all for this month! Have a great November!

POL Progress Update 10/1/14 [NEWS!]

4:56pm Wednesday, October 01, 2014
Hey everyone!

We've had some significant changes in the past month. It seems that the discussion on the last progress update has jostled some new life into this project. The biggest change is that we now have a new Programmer for the project! Our old project leader and lead programmer Pandepic has stepped down for now due to his new job. The new project manager is long-time administrator Platinum, and Pandepic has passed the programming reins to Gandini, who is newer to the project but shows much promise. He has been working very quickly this month, and he's already gotten a lot of the old code up and running again.

The coding was what was really keeping the progress back, so it's really great news that we're making a lot of progress over there now. The rest of the staff is still working on other parts of the project, so we do have more progress there. Mapping-wise, we're now totally moved onto Sinnoh. That's not the easiest mapping project because we have to convert all of the Sinnoh maps into the POL style that is modeled off of FireRed and LeafGreen.

The biggest project that we have going right now is updating our official Pokemon database to include the newest generation. This is the actual database that the game will read from, so completing it will make us one step closer to having a finished product!

Thanks to everyone who's continued reading these progress updates. Hopefully our momentum will lead us to a strong October as well!

POL Progress Update 9/1/14

10:57am Tuesday, September 02, 2014
Hey everyone, as has been the case in recent months, not much happened this month in terms of development for POL, and there's not enough to make a full progress update out of. And because of the lack of viewership of these updates and the lack of progress that we're currently making, I might not post an update every month anymore. We'll just have to see how things go.

POL Progress Update 8/1/14

6:42am Saturday, August 02, 2014
Hey everyone. Unfortunately, I don't have any outstanding news this month. Progress is currently at a crawling pace. We are still working on mapping, and that's seeing the most progress right now, but it is still a little underwhelming compared to previous months. Right now, we're discussing different ways to try and speed up the project and get new people involved, so hopefully we can have something like that worked out soon. I apologize for the lack of new information the past few months. Most of us on staff, including myself, are to blame. I hope I'll be able to give better information soon.

As always, have a great month!

POL Progress Update 7/1/14

1:46pm Wednesday, July 02, 2014
Hey everyone. I'm late... again. I really need to get better at remembering these things...

Unfortunately, progress this past month has been really slow, and I don't have too much to add to what's been said in previous months. We're still working on databasing all of the new information from Pokemon X and Y, as well as beginning work on mapping for Sinnoh.

Once again, I hope everyone has a good month. I'm sorry that I don't have more to talk about. We'll see what we can get done this month!

POL Progress Update 6/1/14

8:32pm Monday, June 02, 2014
Hey everyone! Sorry I'm a day late again. Seems like I can't be on time anymore for some reason... Oh well!

As far as progress goes, this has been a really good month compared to recent ones. A few staff members became active again, and we've since finished making all of the tiles we need for the Johto maps. Most of them are tiles that were also used in Kanto and Hoenn, but there were a few new missing ones that we had to create from scratch.

Databasing-wise, we've just been chugging away at adding all of the Pokemon XY changes to our database, as well as making finalizing the information associated to all of the areas that will be in POL, both from the main-series games as well as some others!

A lot of progress was made this month, and a bunch of staff members came back from being inactive. Hopefully we'll be able to increase that progress next month!
