Forum Changes

List of changes to the forum:-

• Double posting has now been disabled. Your repetitive posts will be merged with the previous message above it.
• You can now subscribe to the forums RSS feed and stay up to date even with the forum window closed.
  Click on the image in your URL address bar and pick a feed.

New rules

The administration have agreed that two new rules needed to be added to our rules list. These were added because we receive too many emails, posts and people adding us on instant messenger to ask for a release date, or to ask a question that was answered in the FAQ.

I promise everyone that as soon as we know when POL will be released, we will tell you all, until we announce it we will not give anybody a release date so please stop asking. It leads to people spreading rumors and then we get accused of failing to meet deadlines we never set in the first place. As of right now there is no release date set for POL, even internally we only have a very vague idea of when it might be finished, this is because POL is created by a volunteer staff with people always leaving because of school, and people coming into the staff at unpredictable times.

These are the new rules (under General Rules):

6. Do not ask for a release date.
Please don't ask us for a release date for the project. This is a volunteer project created by people in their free time, it is impossible to predict when it will be completed.

7. Do not ask questions or make suggestions without first reading the FAQ and rules.
If you have not read the FAQ and rules you will likely end up asking questions that have been answered by us already. We have created the FAQ to answer many of the common questions, so please don't waste our time by asking those same questions.

Wiki Software Change

Due to an issue with the database system, the Wiki has been recreated. We were not able to automatically convert all articles, you may retrieve these from the old Wiki, located at http://pkmnonline.org/wiki2 and upload them to this new Wiki. Any help is appriciated with moving the images/articles missing on the new wiki across from the old wiki. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Other changes include:

• Cleaner items/pokemon listing system.
• Users must login to edit articles (anti-spam).
• All users must create a new account if you had one on the previous wiki.

Attention New Members!

Due to the registration of SpamBots and other various troublemakers that we have been plagued with, when a new account is registered, the first post of that account will be reviewed by a Moderator or Administrator before being displayed to the public.

This is an extra security measure to stop the inappropriate content coming into the community.

If you are a new member and post something, and it doesn't show up, don't post it again - please be patient and wait for your first post to be approved by an on-duty Moderator or Administrator first.

Shifting to creating Digimon game

Due to popular demand, we have decided to build the engine for Digimon. Over the next few days, we will be fixing up the website content to reflect this, so please bare with us while we finish the changes. If you have any issues with this change, please contact us. We hope you enjoy our new goal.

In-Game FAQ

The "Old Ideas & Suggestions Compilation" has now been changed into an In-Game FAQ (Seperate from General FAQ). It only contains information about in-game elements, such as how the mechanics work.

There are several categories with the suggestions/questions being sorted into what it best belongs to and some are sorted into more than one category.

Before posting an idea, suggestion or asking a question about in-game topics, it will be a good idea to read through the FAQ first, as it contains valuable information and will most likely already have an answer to what you were going to post.

It is a Sub-forum, with its parent location being the Ideas and Suggestions section.

POLZINE v2

Ok, due to some members wanting the POLZINE to be started up again, Decypher has decided to restart it. He has lost all the data from the previous POLZINE, so he’s starting from scratch. It’s going to be a bit shorter this time so it will be easier to get each issue out, probably around 10 -12 pages. So that means that there will also probably be less staff this time as well.

We agree to keep to our new sprite system, should anything else be added I, Y3TI will personally contact Dennon to check whether any copyright infringement has taken place. None of PCO Staff members will post anything in anyway slanderous towards the POL Game or Staff.

We agree to keep our site free of Slanderous messages on our Forums, any member found "Flaming" PCO will be banned from the Forum ( + Game, at the discretion of POL Staff). We shall also agree that none of the POL staff will sign into the PCO Forums and post any Slanderous messages or anything deemed to be offensive. If there is a problem we agree to use our point of contact; Y3TI.
